Scanner Overview

The fMRI Laboratory has two scanners, both GE 3T models.

Abbreviations

Here is a list of common abbreviations for the files that are output from the scanner:

Anatomical

  • t1overlay_60sl.nii: Raw anatomical image with same slice count as functional data, generally 60 slices

  • ht1overlay_60sl.nii image above with homogeneity correction applied

  • eht1overlay_60sl.nii: Same as immediately above, but with the skull removed

  • t/h/eht1spgr_208sl.nii: same as above but high-res structural, generally 208 slices from Right to Left

Functional

  • run_01.nii: 4D image converted from dicom, no processing

  • trun_01.nii: Slice-time corrected

  • utrun_01.nii: realign/unwarp with field map correction applied, and slice-time corrected

  • wfmag_trun_01.nii: Not sure what this one is; maybe a magnitude image (I believe so, it’s one of the by products of the field map correction )
